Refund & Cancellation Policy

At Science Made Clear, we aim to provide high-quality online tutoring and a fair, transparent booking experience.

Cancellations by students or parents

If you need to cancel a tutoring session, please contact us as soon as possible.

Cancellations made at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time may be rescheduled to another available time or, where appropriate, refunded.

Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled start time are normally non-refundable. However, we understand that genuine emergencies and exceptional circumstances can occur, and these may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Missed sessions

If a student does not attend a scheduled session without prior notice, the session will normally be treated as completed and the fee will not be refunded.

Late arrival

If a student arrives late, the session will normally still finish at the originally scheduled time. No partial refund will normally be provided for time missed because of late arrival.

Cancellations by Science Made Clear

If we need to cancel a session, you will be offered either a replacement session at a mutually convenient time or a full refund for the affected session.

Technical difficulties

If significant technical problems on our side prevent a tutoring session from taking place or substantially disrupt the session, we will arrange a replacement session or, where appropriate, provide a refund.

Students are responsible for having a suitable internet connection, device and other equipment needed to participate in online tutoring. Refunds are not normally provided for technical problems arising solely from the student's equipment or internet connection, although exceptional circumstances may be considered.

Tutoring packages

Where multiple sessions are purchased as a package, any refund for unused sessions will be considered in accordance with the terms applicable to that package and any statutory rights that apply.

Statutory rights

Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude or restrict any rights you may have under applicable UK consumer law.

Requesting a refund or rescheduling

To request a cancellation, rescheduling or refund, please contact Science Made Clear at enquiries@sciencemadeclear.co.uk and include the name used for the booking and the date and time of the relevant session.

Approved refunds will be returned using the original payment method where practicable. The time taken for the funds to appear in your account may depend on your payment provider.
